Roger Hill Volunteer Center

The Roger Hill Volunteer Center is a service of the United Way of Douglas County. Its mission: Building bridges between community needs and community resources through the promotion of volunteerism. To reach the center, call 865-5030 or e-mail the center at info@rhvc.org.

The volunteer center spearheads various volunteer-oriented projects in the community.

Roger Hill Volunteer Center

Spring Day of Caring - a one day community-wide event that organizes volunteers to complete specific service projects. Annually about 300 people participate in Day of Caring. The 2007 Day of Caring took place on Saturday, April 21.

Kid's Voting - In partnership with the Lawrence Journal World and the school district, the volunteer center helps provide a non-partisan voter education project for students.

Youth Volunteer Council (YVC) - The YVC brings youths ages 14-18 together to volunteer on a regular basis with a variety of local human service and not-for-profit organizations.

The service objectives of the center are:

To link volunteers with meaningful opportunities to serve;
To assist agencies by promoting their volunteer opportunities in the community;
To support non-profit agencies in the development of volunteer programs.
